grrrrr....last night i was so angry--at certain people, at myself, at the situations around me....
i tried praying, i told God everything that was on my mind..or did i? i kept imagining myself venting out on other people instead of God. almost as if God isn't tangible enough to me...i don't feel like He's gonna answer, or respond right away. don't get me wrong. i BELIEVE he will, in his own time and way, but i don't FEEL it. i like the human way of talking and getting comments right then.
...............
or is it that i don't truly believe enough that he's there and present?? is that why i always pray for his presence?
Lord.....Master....
ah! guilt kicks in again. even here, even when i say the Name, i think of people reading this and what they'll think. *sigh*
============================================
i've been reading other people's blogs, and hearing sunday messages; they're all saying the same thing: slow down, breathe.
maybe everyone else is learning the same thing i am. or maybe i just think i'm learning it cuz everyone else is. oh whatever.
anyways...i've been so busy with stuff, that i hardly take a moment to have a good conversation with anyone. so rushed nowadays, yet so lazy. but that's no the point. i haven't gotten to know anyone better...i'm too focused on other tasks and being a 'leader', that i don't take the chance. and when i do, i kinda just shy away from it cuz i'm a bad conversationist anyways. rarely had a conversation without breaks. darn i hate talking. i hate not knowing what to say, not having a good comment for something. or not making people laugh.
i love making people laugh, cuz then i feel accepted.
talking about acceptance.....another thing i've realized is that i'm never gonna really be a part of this...world. this culture. i don't know what to talk about, i don't do the same things people do. i don't find getting drunk or gambling or watching family guy something to laugh about or to be proud of.
and talking about family guy...(i know this is gonna offend a lot of people--you can yell at me later, whatever)....i don't see how God-loving, children of light can watch it. do you even dare to think of God when it's on?? i mean, just LOOK at it!!! it's disgusting--the jokes, the type of humor--why do you watch that CRAP??? i see why this world is called a "perverse world".
maybe i'm insensitive to the influence and the way people are raised here, and maybe i'm just overreacting against a "fine" show, or extremely sheltered and too narrowminded. maybe it's that i've only watched one show (ironically, during a church softball bbq)and shouldn't judge so quickly, and maybe i'm being obnoxious and entirely wrong. probably all of them. but maybe i'm simply more aware of the devil's traps against us. oooh...i feel like a preacher. but grr, everytime i see it or hear of it...it just makes me mad.
[silence] *sigh*
i'm usually a people pleaser, never try to offend anyone, not even my family. i guess today's an exception. and i cant say sorry this time, cuz i mean every word of it.
i'm so out of it. am i just....wrong??

Finally somebody is speaking out to really voice out their opinion...
Am i offended with by you calling me a who watches crap for watching Family Guy? no, but instead I'm enlightened because I see somebody speaking out that this show could be wrong for us. However, out of respect in this world many things can be viewed as despticable depending on the severality of your faith... like how technology and cars are bad because we harm the environment, etc. Which is why we have those people who don't use technology. (I forgot what they are called) As for gambling and getting drunk most can see the obvious reasons that there is no pride in that and is quite obvious in most cultures that gambling and being drunk is frowned upon. As for the Family guy situation, it seems so specific and so isolated that you're so offended only because it happened in a softball Christian bbq. But could you really say its a trap from the devil? a Trap to what though? At times I find the show offending, but as a christian I don't take the show seriously but instead watch it out of laughter and a source of entertainment because there's nothing else better to do...
You must look at the intentions of why people watch the show, if a christian was watching the show religiously then there will actually be a true problem. But otherwise I don't see an emergency problem behind it.
hey dani!!
no, ur not out of it... actually, i agree with u as to christians watching shows like that... i guess that's the hard thing for many christians, esp in this society... there's so much crap out there, and we should not be part of this world... we should be alienating ourselves from the world, although it should not affect us from reaching out to others of the world, if u know what i mean...
yes, entertainment is fine to enjoy most of the time... though i think that we as christians should keep in mind the quality of it... the worst thing we could let it do is to affect us in the way we think, and live our lives...
but yeah, i'm glad u voiced ur opinion... and u don't need to say sry, cuz ur just showing others about ur stance and standards in life - to live a life for Him =]
as for the family guy situation...i've actually wanted to say it for a while, in fact, right there at the barbecue. but it's the fact that christians watch it and take joy in watching and listening to shows like it...cuz i hear people talking about it all the time, and i can totally see WHY anyone would be drawn to watch it...but as alfred said "anything we do either draws people closer to heaven or pulls them closer to hell"
which one do you think it is?? it would apply to ourselves too i believe. trap to pull our sight away from jesus, i suppose.
i agree with you darren, it does depend on the severity of our faith, and how much priority we give it.
and edie, so true, the things we choose to watch and listen to affect us even though we don't realize it. if we WERE to alienate ourselves from the things of the world like jesus did...well i guess we WOULD become amish. but it's the least we could do to think about what we watch and what we say that affects our testimony as christians.
haha..be WIERD for CHRIST
hey danielle...
wow i could so relate to you, the people-pleaser part and also how you think you can't carry a good conversation. of course i think you are lying. you are so great with people, so many people are so comfortable around you. i am serious.
